Long Overdue…

I keep saying to myself… “you’ve got to post about Tennessee, you’ve got to post about Tennessee” to NO AVAIL.
Part of that is playing catch-up at work and all the rest and part is trying to condense and repost 2.5 years worth of projects over at DIYdiva which I promised myself would be completely updated by the first of November. I’m almost half way through 2006, so good progress.
Anyway, as I’ve said, Tennessee was a good break for us. Our cabin wasn’t totally secluded, but it was at the very top of the very steep hill:
MysteryMan can attest to the fact that I pretty much went into convulsions every time we had to drive up or down the death-trap of a road that led to our place.
The views, however, made it well worth the years it scared off my life.
We did an 11 mile bike ride around Cade’s Cove on Saturday, which wasn’t on a bike path so much as a one-way one-lane street packed with stop and go traffic. I actually think we make it through the loop faster that the cars we started out with, but I can personally attest that weaving in and out of traffic on a one way street is not the way to bike. For one, if you happen to fall off your bike and on to your ass… there are a lot of people to witness your unending “grace” and “agility.”
Sunday was a study in walking up hill. 2.5 miles up hill to be exact. Imagine being on a stairmaster for 2 hours and you’ll pretty much have an idea of what that little jaunt was like. There was some beautiful scenery though…
Awww… we’re cute. I only had to wear down his resistance by making him hike up a mountain to the point of exhaustion before he would take a picture with me without making a face. (Just kidding… I didn’t even have to threaten him.)
All that just so we could see this piss-trickle of water that was supposed to be a first-class water fall:
Not particularly impressive, although that is MysteryMan in the lower left… so there was something to be said for the height that piss-trickle of water was falling.
Still. It was a gorgeous place all in all. Good for relaxing…
Unreal sunsets…
And in general just taking a break from it all. See, I’m taking MysteryMan’s picture and he’s even smiling.
That’s the best reference I can give a place. (And isn’t he just gorgeous when he smiles? You can see why more than half the energy I expend in a day goes toward making this man laugh.)
Now, it’s entirely past my bedtime!

Wow, that’s all so amazingly beautiful. I must go there someday. Thanks for sharing!
Sweet!
This is a cabin you rented? If so, mind dropping me a line to tell me where it is? I’d be really anxious to make a trip over here myself.
the pic of you two in the sunlight with your eyes closed made me sigh…so relaxed.
the “waterfall” made me shake my head in sadness. sad little waterfall….
I’m glad you had such a good time. Looks lovely and relaxing. Oh and great pics! You are too cute!
I love Gatlinburg! My family stayed up in one of those chalets on the mountain earlier this month. It looks like you were there about 2-3 weeks earlier than we were judging by the leaves. It’s a great place to relocate your center. I love it! I’ll try to remember to come visit you over here. I don’t do as well when I have to visit off xanga, but I’ve been reading you so darn long I don’t want to lose contact now.
