On the list of 1000 projects I would like to start in the next year.

I have a problem. I am project ADD and I know it, okay? There are just so many wonderful things to be built and painted and refinished.

First on my list is the DIY wine rack, of course, which I was supposed to have started in March, I know, but instead will be starting it in April and seeing as there is no such thing as project police I can do it whenever I want. Part of the hinderance there is that I want to dovetail the darn thing, and I’m still figuring out the best approach to all that (router and jigs vs. hand cut vs. smaller router and jigs… I don’t know yet)

Oh, and another fantastic project in which to use dovetails…

I don’t even need one of these things, but MysteryMan’s sister showed me a picture and now I have an overpowering urge to build one. This one is actually attached to the wall on one side, and the other side swings out on casters… but I really think it’s possible to make something free-standing. See? Do you see the problem I have? I can’t help myself.

Also on that list is a batch of animal-print inspired broom handles.

Oh, and finishing this clock, which I designed and cut all of the pieces for, and which has been sitting on my workbench waiting for stain and paint for, oh, three years.

And, um, don’t even get me started on the number of unfinished paintings I have laying around my house. Such as, oh, these…

(I like to do this every once and a while… post about the unfinished projects that I should get done… You would think  it would shame me into finishing them. It doesnt, but it’s still good to take stock every now and again.)

I know I lucked out with MysteryMan just because he’s, well, him. But also because his family is full of crafty people and I am like an idea sponge around them. I think all of us are going to browbeat MysteryMan until he works out a system for drilling holes in river rock, so that we can make lamps something like this:

He does not get even remotely as excited as I do about starting new projects but I just keep fousting things like this off on him, convinced that one day a little bit of my project ADD will rub off on him.

My list is bigger than your list! :-)
Though I agree, you NEED to build that cabinet – it’s awesome! Send it to Sweden when you’ve finished it! ;-)
