Grizzly Hand-held Pneumatic Drum Sander = LOVE

For each Crookedbroom I make I spend between two and three hours of quality time with sandpaper. But I’d really never found a significantly faster or easier way to get the job done… in fact, I told MysteryMan the only thing I thought would work would be a round smushy sanding sponge attached to my drill, or something similar, and he’s the engineer so why couldn’t he just invent me something like that already?

(I hear that engineers love it when you ask them to invent things, because they are engineers, after all.)

Well, MysteryMan can thank Toolmonger that he’s off the hook for this one, because I just found what is sure to be my second favorite tool of all time…

Grizzly’s 2-1/4″  hand-held pneumatic drum sander. It get’s inflated with a bicycle pump and, and you attach it to your drill.  Um, Grizzly? You totally read my mind. They have a smaller size too, but I think this is the one I’m getting…

While I was hoping it was in the $30 range (it’s not) these are still fairly reasonably priced. ($69.99 for the small one and $99.99 for the larger size.) Even though my paychecks are smaller than they were this time last month (thank you Economy, you fickle bitch, for eating away at my tool fund) and I can’t impulse-buy tools like I like to, I’m also working upwards of sixty hours a week so I’m going to by myself a damn sander if I want one.

Take that Economy.

LOL @ “you fickle bitch, for eating away at my tool fund”. I feel ya, there’s a grizzly bandsaw I’ve waiting to buy for a loong while. You can rationalize it as time saved = more brooms = tool paid for. Do it, buy it.
