Mostly I’m all over the Internet when it comes to finding the information I need to do whatever I want to do. But I find myself going back to some of the same sites over and over again for good DIY project ideas and advice.
Lowe’s Creative Ideas: This is my new fav, and I’m a little pissed I didn’t find it until a couple of months ago. They have threaded comments on each project and mods that will answer your questions on what materials to use or how to modify the plans. I’m definitely going to find a place for something like this on the Memorial house.
BHG.com Deck Resources: Usually I use BHG.com for design ideas, and I don’t generally think of going there for DIY advice, but one of the BHG-people sent me this link a week or two ago and I’ve been through every article there twice. Our house plans have a concrete outdoor kitchen on one side of the house, and a BIGASS deck on the other side. I won’t be building that deck for at least another year, but bet your ass I’ll be prepared.
Grit.com: My new guide to country livin.’ I actually found this site when I was searching for info on what type of enclosure to build for our miniature donkeys. It is country living gold. They also have great DIY ideas about landscaping, building rock walls, and owning chickens. See? Something for all of us. Not to mention a huge “Tools” section of their site. You definitely can’t go wrong. See? Work bench plans.

DIY Network Tip Jar: DIY Network is “old faithful” as far as finding info on DIY projects. I’m having a mini love-affair with their Tip Jar (twitter for DIY tips). I love browsing, because who knows what you’re going to find… but it’s just a big mess of tips, so if someone leaves a “tip” asking for help, it’s hard to respond to them. Hopefully they’ll figure this out, cause it’s a great idea.
