Tucked Away in Toledo: It’s Friday! @ Toledo Museum

There’s been very little time for doing anything too far outside of the realm of packing and construction, but we’re trying to sneak out whenever we get a chance.

Last week we did something I’ve been talking about for years, but never actually got up off my butt and did.

Drank beer.

Um. Nevermind.

Actually, we did go out for a bite to eat at one of our favorite food & bev places downtown, the Easystreet Cafe. They carry a wide selection of imports and brew on tap, and they have deep fried pickles on the menu, so really, what else could you want from life? But Easystreet isn’t exactly tucked away, and if you’re from the area you should know about it.

What you might not know about is what we did next. It’s Friday! at the museum. Every Friday they have a number of activities, including glass blowing demonstrations, wine tastings, and free music.

We went to stroll around the museum grounds and catch the music.

And of course, to feel like we were somewhere else for a bit.

It worked.

We’re definitely talking about going back for the wine tasting one of these next weekends. I can’t believe it’s taken us so long to drive 6 miles down the street for good free music and a little somethin’ different on a Friday night. Highly recommended.

Hi there. I absolutely love your blog and get so excited when I see you have published a new post! I started my own renovation blog for all my home projects, and would be so honored if you would check it out. I’m not as power-tool-handy as you, but I do okay. You are such an inspiration!

PS – On Friday me and my fiance also spent the day at the museum and did a brewery tour, so your night sounds right up our alley!
