Apparently there are only so many weeks you can spend upwards of 65 hours (not including 320 miles of drive time) at your actual-real-job, then come home and paint, make brooms, hang trim, and install fencing in 35-degree weather. We could sum last week up by saying I recently found out the maximum number of weeks my body would tolerate less than 5 hours of sleep a night without collapsing.
And I guess at some point in the self-medicated haze I took non-drowsy Sudafed at seven o’clock at night, and hello there 3 AM, haven’t seen you in a while. Do you know what people like me do at 3AM on cold medicine? We redesign our yet-to-be-built kitchens and decide that we can no longer abide serif fonts on our website. Why? I’m out of the germ-coma now, and I can honestly tell you I have no idea.
But I suppose we should all finish the things we start, even if we start them under the influence of medication, so you may see a few site changes around here over the coming weeks. (Sorry in advance if things get a little buggy. I’m doing it myself, obviously, and no, I’m not a professional, even at this.)
Speaking of professionals, however… I’d like to submit this video as evidence of some of the awesomeness of the people I work with. Why yes, that is the president of our company dancing on a chair, but could you really expect less from people who hired me after reading this website?
And while I’ll post pictures of myself with buzzed hair and covered in mud ALL OVER THE INTERNET, you will not find me in the video, which means I may still have some shred of dignity left. And unless I lose a really bad bet, I hope to never post a video of myself singing on this website. Ever.
As depressing as knowing you won’t see me in all my karaoke glory may be, I do have some good content for you this week, including:
- How to install a woven-wire fence
- Using a dremmel and roto-zip bit to shape wood
- The best recipe of all time for baked macaroni and cheese
- And for a little drama… How I lost a cat and found an opossum
Stay tuned fellow powertool junkies!
