Walking The Plank

I don’t even like heights, but these days, this is my happy place.

I find myself more often than not glancing longingly at my tool belt before heading off to my Actual Real Job. Sometimes work is a nice break from the constant physical labor of building a house. I used to find it a good balance–the mental challenge and the physical one– but the truth is I miss working on the house when I’m sitting at my desk all day. Especially when it’s jobs I love, like hanging siding.

Something tells me I’ll be visiting here regularly in my mind today.

  1. I totally agree. At my “real job” I daydream about all the stuff I could be doing at home. But then I get home, and often all I want to do is sit around. Then I remind myself how I felt at work, and I get off my butt. I really wish I only worked part-time.

  2. I’ve been following your blog for a few months now and I find myself laughing out loud because we’ve had so many similar thoughts/fights/experiences. Thanks for telling it like it is!

I also wanted to thank you for posting about the True Value Design SOS awhile back. My husband and I submitted an entry and we’re now finalists. I would never have known about it without this site. Thanks again!

    1. Kristy – That is incredibly awesome. And I’m assuming that bathroom is yours, and it is incredibly awful. Good Luck, because you deserve a new room!
