This is not the pretty oft-photographed view of our property. This is the proverbial closet that we shove all of our crap into, which in this case means miscellaneous wood, dirt, the burn pit, 1000 ladders, and random lawn furniture. Its the part of the yard we trench through, drive over, dig up, and one time almost broke my ankle in. And since the ground is going to freeze over in .0723 seconds, it could very well be a complete and total disaster area for the next 5 months.
What do we say about house projects around here? Things ALWAYS get worse before they get better.

When I did our yard, I had a mountain of dirt on one side from when I dug it out to lay down a bunch of brick sidewalks. I eventually made a huge raised planter and put the dirt in there. Took me four days with a shovel and wheel barrow!

Just remember, the pretty, fresh, white snow covers everything and hides most of the ugly until it turns to sludge. so live in that pretty white freshness for a while.
