I don’t want to insinuate that there are people out there with loads of time on their hands for whom the holidays (and the added time that must be devoted to them) don’t wreak havoc on their daily schedules. I’ll just say that this year, I don’t have even the scant few minutes to devote to things like shopping and wrapping that I can usually find, which is why you’re seeing a bunch of big pictures and short posts around here. The hours after midnight must now be equally divided between drinking-wine-and-blogging and drinking-wine-and-wrapping presents.
For a while there I thought I was going to have to default on Christmas this year entirely, but then I spent six straight hours over the weekend doing a marathon of online shopping the likes of which this computer has never seen.
Here are a couple of stores/products* that I did not know existed a week ago, but which saved both my sanity and my Christmas spirit this year:
And I do have a whole lot of things to say (and advice to ask) about my Laundry Room– first on the “finish this room” list, but I need a little more time to get all my decorating thoughts together. It doesn’t come as easy for me as, say, hitting things with a hammer.
*No one paid for a mention, I’m really just glad I found these sites before I started turning green and grinch-like. People who sell things like jam and makeup are not interested in advertising on this site. For good reason.

This year is a challenge! I did a sweep last night and tonight – Forever 21 for my nieces reminded me how certain people just KNOW what teenagers want and Down Home Records in El Cerrito CA reminded me how much we need to support our local, very quirky, very cool stores. Happy hols!
