Fuzzy Donkeys

I know, I know, you come here for your daily dose of bathroom, because that’s all I seem to talk about these days and why on Earth would you want to see… ohmigod look at that donkey!

Because this is what Lucy looked like when it was warm out:

I know, I’ll give you a minute to recover from falling out of your chair from the awesomeness of my fuzzy donkeys. We’ve got the equine version of chia pets going on here. Asses. Two chia-asses. Oh god, I may live in a garage, but some days I just love my life.

Those are my girls. None of us brush our hair all that often, but it does require a good chewing-on every once in a while.

And the best part about a shaggy winter coat? No need to cover up with a snuggie when you want to take a nap.

I’m so jealous.

I bottle-raised miniature goats and have a thing for mini goats but your donkeys are killing me. The cuteness!The ears! The big brown eyes. Those sammet noses. The teeny hooves! Ahhhhhhh!

The Girls are so cute! Not enough land per zoning to have any 4 legged creature bigger than a dog or I’d be checking into this! Love the furry noses and the “Nappin'” picture makes me want to hug her!

Oh my goodness!!! I have been lurking on your page for a while now (think: badass pergola!), and have found a post that is forcing me out of the shadows. Unfortunately how do you explain to a 7 year old “chia-asses”? Furthermore, how do you explain to a sense of humor-challenged husband “chia asses”? Because both are staring at my wondering why I have Pepsi shooting out of my nose and Chex Mix flying across the room!!

Back in 2004 I started writing about my adventures in fixing up houses on the internet. A lot of things have changed since then, with me, with my houses, and with the internet. These days I am basically a cranky old man trapped in a slightly less old woman’s body. The internet has changed and I am staunchly refusing to change with it. You won’t find any algorithms here, or feeds, or ads, or social media. Just good old-fashioned stories about a woman drinking beer and building shit, and living an unexpected life.
