That Magic Spot

Here’s something that surprised me about going from an old two-story home with small, closed-off rooms, to something decidedly not. An open floor plan in a long one-story home occasionally leads to one of these…

That special point where you can stand in one room and pretty clearly see seven of the ten rooms in the house.

If you look closely you can see the colors for the master bed and bath which have been painted. It’s unlikely that I’ll decide to repaint them, but I sure hope they coordinate with the living room colors, since apparently, you’ll be able to see it from there.

Also, I’m going to have to do something extra awesome with that bench/coat rack area in the mud room which is basically all you can see looking out of the kitchen or living room. No pressure.

  1. Suggestion. Paint everything before the carpeting goes in. Then check it out. Don’t like it? Paint it again. At this point in time you can paint a room in half a day or so. If you want until everythings’s done to change your mind, it’s a total pain in the butt.

    1. Good point Joseph. Luckily I’m not putting any carpet in… or any flooring at all, actually, for quite some time. We’re saving our pennies for some reclaimed barn siding floors.
