White Walls

I’m finding there are all kinds of things to consider as I move back into the “renting” mindset after almost a decade of owning and building my living spaces. On one hand, I’m particular about how my spaces look (what? “Chaos in Sawdust” is totally a style) and clearly don’t have a problem slinging a hammer around to whip a room into shape. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure I’ve almost been crushed under the weight of ten thousand paint swatches at least once in the last few years.

Since I’m only looking at a six month lease, I won’t be putting a lot of effort into making my rental feel like “home”, but I would like to take advantage of the time to focus less on building the bones of a place, and more on creating fun stuff to go in it.

I’m already excited to get my rustic wood wall art up somewhere.

And my tiny planets. (Which are totally finished, by the way, but I can’t get a good picture of it now since it gets dark a four o’clock in the afternoon. Thank you time change.)

I’m also hoping to add some color to all of the rustic/industrial wood and metal I tend to gravitate toward. Here is some “white wall inspiration” I’m considering. (For all of you pinners, click the image to be taken to Pinterest and re-pin instead of pinning from here, so that the proper sites get credited!)

Can’t wait to see what you will do with your new temporary space…I suspect you may not be able to help yourself and some changes will be made! Been following your blog for about a year and find it fascinating….I have a compound mitre saw I was “gifted” from my brother but haven’t worked up the nerve to try it out…but you inspire me.

Ok, I’m a big idiot. I somehow missed that you are a single girl moving out on your own. How? I have no idea. I blame it on my outrageous allergies making it impossible to sleep, therefore depriving my brain of much-needed downtime. I am very interested to see how you spiff up your new rental, and hope that otherwise you are doing well! Wow. I’m so behind.

That’s funny Sara, happens to me all the time… it’s like you miss one post and suddenly the whole story doesn’t make sense any more. And in your defense, this was super easy to miss. There are people who see me in real life every day today and still don’t know!
