Foyer Dimensions: 5′x7′

Ceilings vaulted. Stone veneer fireplace. Timberframe structure to support roof. May raise roof to accommodate loft over bedroom/bathroom area?

Planning

Prior to addition construction:

  • Roof joists must be replaced
  • Supports (and beams) in basement need to be moved
  • Floor joists doubled up- current lumber is 2×8 exactly (not dimensional) so we may need to get 2×10’s and rip them down.
  • Existing porch removed


Questions:

  • When adding new wall on South side of house, when do we remove existing wall?
  • Additional support needed under fireplace with veneers?
