<p>Back when I was an undergrad at Florida State, I started a fun little project affectionately named, &#8220;The Bottle Project,&#8221; which included sharpie markers, liquor bottles, and a lot of hangovers. Mainly because the rule was the bottle had to be empty before I drew it.</p>
<p>Here is the end result of that project:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2207381353/" title="Bottle Project Close up 1 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="500" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2281/2207381353_e9abdab09d.jpg" alt="Bottle Project Close up 1" height="375" /></a><br />
(There are actually 3 to this set with 15 bottles that make up a full shelf of liquor, but you get the point.)</p>
<p>When I met MysteryMan and experienced his love of beer, The Bottle Project immediately came to mind&#8230; and when I told him I wanted to do one of beer bottles for him (the rule still stands, he has to drink each type of beer before I draw the bottle) we started collecting bottles of beer from around the world. That was a year and a half ago, and just last night I sat down and actually knocked out (not back) some bottles of beer, as it were&#8230;</p>
<p>Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout, Anchor Porter, and Coopers Brewery Best Extra Stout:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2207384093/" title="DSC01653 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="500" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2309/2207384093_1b124a2598.jpg" alt="DSC01653" height="375" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2208176712/" title="DSC01655 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="500" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2288/2208176712_760008cf23.jpg" alt="DSC01655" height="375" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2207383355/" title="DSC01651 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="375" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2072/2207383355_158d8a5a3f.jpg" alt="DSC01651" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>And a detail shot:<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2208177100/" title="DSC01656 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="375" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2165/2208177100_8561129164.jpg" alt="DSC01656" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>There&#8217;s no perfection here. I&#8217;m not a xerox machine (or an engineer!), but there will be dozens of these by the time it&#8217;s finished, so I don&#8217;t believe the little imperfections will be as noticeable in the finished project.</p>
<p>I had done a Whitbread a while back, that is somehow MIA now, but such is life around this house. The monster that lives in my dirty laundry probably ate it.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitliz/2208174732/" title="DSC01185 by kitliz, on Flickr"><img width="375" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2016/2208174732_595f305135.jpg" alt="DSC01185" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>So yes, this is what I was doing instead of painting the office. What can I say? The Popsicle stick put me over the edge.</p>
<p>Tune back in for more beer tomorrow&#8230; but this time in the form of a recipe!</p>
