One day I am going to actually turn thirty, and then I have no idea how I will obtusely refer to my age on this website. I have one or two more baby-steps before I have to worry about it, but suffice it to say that as of yesterday I am one step closer to that happy date.
I tend not to get too worked up about aging, but I’ll say that I could do without the smile line on just one side of my mouth that has decided it will now be making a permanent appearance on my face.
My mother tells me a Restylane injection will cure this, but I’ve found an easier and less invasive solution to the problem called really good lighting for my camera.I was enjoying a little quiet time on my porch this morning when all the sudden it occurred to me that early morning light would probably make me look ten years younger.
Eh? Whatever it is, I’ll take it.
So, other than buying my body weight in anti-aging products, I celebrated my birthday the same way I celebrate most weekends. By working in my yard and eating a lot of cake.
And thanks to a Lowe’s gift card, I’ll be adding to my tool collection sooner rather than later. Even though there are more fun things on my wishlist, I’m seriously considering the finish nailer I need to hang the rest of the trim in my bathroom and build a better sink cabinet. Because seriously, who uses a hammer these days?
New tools. I get all tingly just thinking about it.

happy birthday girl. here’s to toolin’ towards 30.
Feliz Cumpleanos! 30 ain’t so bad. 🙂 And I’ve grown fond of the vertical wrinkle between my eyebrows…I call it “Emilie” because I got it when she hit 2. LOL. This year I added a horizontal one across my forehead. For now I’m cool with them…give me 5 more years and I may change my tune. 🙂
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! Warm sun, cake and the promise of more power tools — sounds like a great weekend.
Happy Birthday!! I enjoy your blog and am happy to find another girl who owns all the tools in the relationship. Enjoy the new toy!
I’ll hazard a guess that we are approximately the same age… and I found my FOURTH grey hair the other day. It’s gone. 🙂 My husband of the same age found his first.
Happy Birthday!
I’d not worry about 30. Thirty is when a woman comes into her own.
Now 40…well that just sucks for all of us.
I really won’t worry, 30 is just a number! The cake looks great by the way.
My cousin sent me the link to this post. Do you by any chance have any more related info that I can read? I enjoy your writing style. Thanks.
Who cares, as long as you keep smiling and enjoying life thats what matters..
x
I always feel that age is just a number and you should live your life not just by numbers thank you for your post.
