The most exciting thing I ever saw in the city was a pair of flying squirrels partying in the trees of my front yard late one snowy evening. That was actually a fairly awesome sight — although MysteryMan kept insisting I was on drugs as I shouted things to him in the phone like “Bats! No… squirrels! Squirrels flying in the trees!”
I just barely kept him from committing me. (No word on whether he’s regretting that now that I’m making him build a house in all of his free time.)
Out here in the country, the wildlife is a bit more diverse… like these two little critters that were hanging out on our garden shed.
I didn’t even know we had tree frogs in Michigan.
And this quizzical mantis.
Just hanging out in the country.
